Did we curse him by naming him Lucky?
When it comes to our furry friends, it’s tough to see them face hardships. Recently, our hearts went out to a special baby goat named Lucky. Born as part of late Dottie's quadruplets, Lucky's life has already been filled with challenges. Just when we thought he was settling in, a fence unexpectedly fell on him. Thankfully, he's recovering, but he still requires an important operation to ensure his safety from our buck.
Can Lucky Bounce Back? The Journey of a Resilient Baby Goat
The day of Lucky's accident was both shocking and sad. One moment, he was happily playing with his siblings in the baby pen, and the next, a piece of fencing collapsed. While he appeared shaken, there were no immediate signs of severe injuries. However, a closer look revealed he needed medical attention.
Healing Process
Since the accident, Lucky's resilience has shone through. Despite the shock, he quickly began his healing journey. We provided extra care and love during this time, and his spirit remained strong. We kept him indoors with us to protect him while he healed. Taking him outdoors to play with his brotherss everyday. Within a few weeks, he started showing more energy, running around with his siblings and playing just like before.
Every day has brought signs of improvement, which is uplifting. So far, he's regained about 70% of his energy, and our daily checks reassured us of his progress. We are mindful of his needs as we prepare for the upcoming surgery, which is essential since Lucky is too small for banding. This banding is a common procedure used to keep goats safe from bucks, but Lucky's size makes surgery the safer option.
Fundraiser for Lucky's Surgical Costs
We are reaching out to our community for support in raising funds to cover essential surgical costs. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the life of someone in need of surgery. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us get closer to our goal.
